Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was an incident that happened here in Boston in the year of 1770. The reason for this was that a group of young Citizens of Boston were arguing with some of the Britsh Soldiers. The British Army shot 5 Colonist. All the colonist did was insult them verbally but they had to go and force it and make it physically as well. -
Boston tea Party
What happened here was that the "Indians" dumped about 18,000 pounds of tea in the water. This tea did not belong to them it belonged to The British East Indian Company.This took place in the Boston Harbor. They did that because of the taxation, they had to pay tax to pay tea. -
Intolerable Acts by King George III
King Goerge the 3rd was infuriated by this organized destruction of british property. Then he passed a law called Parliament which colonist called the Intolerable Acts.This was one law that shut down Boston Harbor. The cause of the shut down was because the Colonist refused to pay for the damaged tea. -
Thomas Jefferson
Thomas Jefferson was a lawyer from Virginia. He was known for his broad knowledge and also for being able to have the skills of crafted prose. He was the one that wrote the Declaration of Independence. And also of the white power! -
Declaration of Independence
It was a Statement adopted by the Contintal Congress on July 4th 1776. The 13 American Colonies went to war with Great Britain, the 13 Colonist won the war and became independent states. So no longer a part of the British Empire. -
Article of Confederation
A document adopted by the 2nd contiental congress. It was an agreement with the 13 Colonies.the Articles provided domestic and international legitimacy for the Continental Congress to direct the American Revolutionary War, conduct diplomacy with Europe and deal with territorial issues and Indian relations. -
Treaty of Paris
The Delegates signed the treaty. The treat confirmed U.S Independence. Paris gave away Florida and the Oregon terriotory to the United States. Because they had alot of things to do in their own countries. -
Shay's Rebellion
Shay Rebellion was a man named Daniel he was a farmer from Massachusetts. he was angry because after the war the U.S. government was taxing him and he turned it into a protest; angry mob. The delegates were afraid that the angry mob would spread to the others states so all of them showed up at the meeting. -
The Three Branch of Government
What they did to have equal power they divide it into three different branches. They named them Legislative, Executive and Judicial. The groups that are encharge of this branch is Congress. The person that is encharge of the executive branch is the president. Lastly the groups that are encharge of the Judicial branch is the Supreme Court. -
Thomas Jefferson & Anti-Federalist's
People who were favored of the new Constitution were Anti-Federalist. Jefferson was an Anti-Federalist. They also opposed of a strong central government . -
Federalism
Federalism is a form of government that divide power between the National Government and the State Government.the power grant to the national government by the constituton known as the delegated power.This included power over foreign affairs, national defense, regulating trade and coining money. There is also the reserved power (education,marriage laws and regulate trade within states. Both gov were able to share important power such as right to tax, borrow money, and pay debts. -
Washington becomes President & creat Cabinet
On April 30th 1789 George Washington became the first president in U.S. History. He was born in the year of 1732 in Vrginia. Washington was the one that created the cabinets; the departments are Military,Treasury, and Secretary State. The Cabinet were the groups of department heads who serve as the president's chief advisers.He was the head of the Revolutionary War.Alexander Hamilton was the tresuary so, his job had to do with managing finances. And Thomas Jefferson was the secretary of state. -
Alexandder Hamilton & plan for Creating Bank of U.S
Hamilton proposed for a national bank that would help. It would help the federal government and wealthy private investors.What he wanted was to tie the wealthy investors to the country's welfare.The Bank of the U.S would issue paper, money and handle tax receipts and also other government funds. But a lot of people were against this proposal such as James Madison. -
Bill of Rights
The Bill of Rights was created to protect the Human Rights of the people. The Bil of Rights are the first ten amendments of the constitution. It was an important document as well because it guranteed people freedom. But this document didnt include ALL americans. It excluded Native Americans and Slaves. -
Two Party System
There were two version of the Party system. One of them called themselves federalist. They were the people that shared Hamilton vision of a strong central government. The other one
's supported Jefferson with his vision. Jefferson believed in strong state government. This party called themselves Republicans. Now today these two party systems are called Democratic-Republicans. This system was established after Washington left office.
