Japan, seeing a chance to seize German colonies, joined the Allies, who were the victors in the war.

    The 19th Amendment was ratified on August, 18, 1920. It forbids voting rights discrimination anywhere in the United States based on a person's sex. The amendment's adoption was the result of a nearly century-long campaign trying to allow women to have the ability to vote.

    In the United States, the Great Depression began after the stock market crash of October 1929, which sent Wall Street into a panic and wiped out millions of investors. Consumer spending and investment dropped, causing steep declines in industrial output and rising levels of unemployment as failing companies laid off workers. By 1933 13 to 15 million Americans were unemployed and nearly half of the country’s banks had failed. The economy would not turn around until after World War II.

Although the two superpowers never officially declared war on each other, they fought indirectly in 'cold' wars including the arms race, and the space race.

    The "King Of Pop," Micheal Jackson's fans were devistated to find out that he had suffered cardiac arrest and passed away, although, at the time of the incident, the police stressed that there was no evidence of criminal actions. This was proven wrong when later it was announced that Jackson’s personal doctor injected him with Demerol (a strong narcotic painkiller) about half an hour before his death. This is what presumably caused the death of the famous pop singer who will never be forgotten.

    Al Qaeda terrorists aboard three hijacked passenger planes carried out suicide attacks against the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., killing everyone on board the planes and nearly 3,000 people on the ground. A fourth plane crashed into a Pennsylvania field, killing all on board, after passengers and crew attempted to wrest control from the hijackers.
