    This is the day that the Declaration of Independence was signed.

    The British soldiers were running out of food and started to get weak. At yorktown they were supposed to battle but their other soliders never showed up, so Britain surrendered.

    After a very long debate, the Continental Congress agree to adopt the Articles of Confederation.

    On this day 2,000farmers attacked a new federal arsonal, Springfield Armory.

    This was a long covention in Philedelpha which too place so that the constitution could be written.

    This is the day that state legislatures held ratification conventions in each state.

    This day the Bill of Rights was approved and was made official.

    This was when the patent for the Cotton Gin was granted. The Cotton Gin was used to clean cotton.

    This was the day that the first textile mill was built. It was built in Lowell Massachusetts.

    This was when Cherrokee tribe was moved westr to Indian territory.

  • Gold Discovered at Sutter's Mill

    On this day James W. Marshall found several flakes of gold at Sutter Mill in California. This was the start of the California Gold rush.

  • Signing of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo

    The treaty added an additional 525,000 square miles to United States territory, including the land that makes up all or parts of present-day Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.

    This was a battle that was near Charleston, South Carolina, and it started the American Civil War.

    This battle was one of the most important battles of the American Civil War.

    This was a battle between combined forces against the United States Army and 7th Calavary Regiment.

    This is when the Apollo 11 landed on the moon and when the first person ever stepped on the moon.

    On this day two highjacked airplanes crashed into the Twin Towers in New York City. Another airplane also crashed inot the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.
