    In April 30, 1803 the United States President Thomas Jefferson buys the Louisiana Territory from France for 15 million dollors. Once the United States President Thomas Jefferson bought the Louisiana Territory, he wanted two men to explore the Louisiana Territory, and those two men are Lewis and Clark. Those two men would soon be the first people to travel on foot around the whole United States of America(McDougal Littel).

    On April 25, 1846 the war between Texas and Mexico began. Mexico invaded American Territory and killed eveyone that was at Rio Grande. After the Assualt on Rio Grande, congress declared war with Mexico. Americans had mixed reactions to the war. In general, the people that live in the south wanted to expand the territory for slavery. Later down the years America won the war against mexico in 1847(McDougal Littell).

    On April 25, 1846 the war between Mexico and America had began. Mexico made and assult at Rio Grande the affected many Americans that were there. Mexico tried to clam land that belonged to Texas, but Texas didn't allow it. Congress has declared war on Mexico. Over the long years, America has won the war against Mexico and they clamed their land back(McDougal Littell).

    On may 9th, 1846 thousands of Americans moved west for better lives, and the group that lead them was the Donner Party. Their were eigthy one American Pioneers that was in the party and thirty-six of them died from starvation. What happend was they thought if they took a different route it would go faster than the other route, and they were wrong. They got trapped in a bad snowstorm and it killed everyone except one man(Wikipedia).

    On January 24, 1848 people rushed to the west to find gold. People went to the American River to mine for gold. People useully came in groups so that it can go faster. People also had to clam land so that they can mine for the gold, because if you don't have land you willn't make money(McDougal Littell).

    During the election of March 1855, there were more proslavery than antislavery settelers in the Kansas Territory. Some settelers from Missouri came down and voted illegally, and then Kansas was filled with proslavery representatives. The antislavery settelers rejected the elected government. After that, settalers from both sides armed themselves and started a civil war that lasted three years on the land that is now called" Bleeding Kansas". (Mcdougal Littel)
  • Harper's Ferry

    On October 16, 1859, Brown and 18 folowers( 13 whites and five blacks) caputerd the Harper's Ferry. Brown then sent out the word to rally and arm local slaves. But no slaves fought with him and the U.S. marines attacked him at Harper's Ferry and John Brown and six others were captuerd and ten others died. John Brown was sentenced to a hanging and that caused the issue of slavery has raised sectional tensions to the breaking point.(Mcdougal Littel)

    The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln happened on April 15,1865. The man who assinated the United States President went by the name of, John Wilks Booth. He got assinated when the civial war was coming to a close.

    During the day of 9/11, there were four terriost attacks launched in the United states, New York, and Washition D.C. The terriost also flew a airplane into the Twin Towers, to cause a massive explosion. While the buliding was collapsing, it caused major damage to all the surrondings of both of the buildings. It also caused serious damage to lower manhatten. Another thing that has happened during 9/11 is, 5 highjackers attacked the american airlines. 9/11 caused a major downfall to our econemy.

    One important event from my own life is, when i scored the game winning touchdown against east pete. We were at the 50 yard line and we had the ball. Everytime we just kept running up the feild and ganning yards after yards after yards. Then their was 2 seconds left on the clock and the ball was going to me. I ran straight up the middle and just got the touchdown. The was a very important event of my life.
