At this time Abraham Lincloln was president of the United States. There was also slavery at the time. Abe did not think we should have slavery in our country and the north agreed with him (give or take a few americans). The south wanted to keep slavery and that is how the war began. -
Civil war ends
After a 4-year war, the north finally won and there was a riot by the south shortly after. Abraham Lincloln was shot and killed later in the evening of the riot. Nearly the whole country,even the south, mourned his death. -

They landed on the moon in the U.S spacecraft Apollo 11. Neil was the first on the moon. -
