- Proverbs 10:12 because it reminds me that I need to love.
- Ecclesiastes and he found that he needed to trust God.
- Solomon was given the task of building the temple because he was wiser.

David's Early Years
- David wasn't strong or particulary handsome, but God used David to defeat Goliath who was huge.
- David and his men had to hide out in the cave for several years because it wasn't save.
- David didn't kill Saul when he had the chance because he didn't listen to his men who encouraged him to, and did what was right.

- God was not pleased when the people wanted and earthly king because they were tyring to be like the other nations.
- Saul tried to kill David. At the beginging of Saul's regin he was faithful to God, but then sinned and kept on sinning. Since Saul did not go back to God he suffered.

Saul was a very handsome and powerful man, but once he strayed away from God he lost the material things he once had.
David was very faithful to God and wasn't swayed when he was criticised. -

King David followed God when he was first king, but went away from him, and eventually returned. -
David's Reign
- Even though David wanted to build a temple for God, he said no, and David obeyed. David was patient and waited to be King. David also didn't kill Saul even though he could have.
- He was crowned as king infront of Israel after proving himself.
- David was with Bathsheaba even though he was not suposed to be, and Nathan was a priest who called him out on it. David then repented and wrote Psalm 51
