  • The great awakening

    A spiritual realization where people started to realize their salvation did not depend on those around them or their family but instead their personal connection with God.
  • French Indian war

    The French Indian war was also known as the Seven Years' War. This was a war fought between 1756 and 1763. It involved every European great power of the time and five continents, which affected Europe, the Americas, West Africa, India, and the Philippines.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    The proclamation of 1763 was established after After Britain won the Seven Years' War and gained land in North America. The proclamation prohibited American colonists from settling west of Appalachia.
  • Sons of liberty

    The Sons of Liberty was a secret organization that was created in the Thirteen American Colonies to advance the rights of the European colonists and to fight taxation by the British government. It played a major role in most colonies in battling the Stamp Act in 1765.
  • Boston massacre

    The Boston Massacre, known to the British as the Incident on King Street, was a confrontation on March 5, 1770 in which British soldiers shot and killed several people while being harassed by a mob in Boston. The event was heavily publicized by leading Patriots such as Paul Revere and Samuel Adams.
