    John Calvin of Geneva was inspired by Martin Luther's words and elaborated them further, making a big impact on the Americas.He created Calvinism, which would later inspired Calvinists to brake away from the Roman Catholic church.
  • 1620

    Sometime after the Pilgrims arrived, an epidemic arrived, affecting the Native Americans drastically. It ended up killing three-quarters of the Native people. This was most-likely caused by the interaction with fishermen.
  • 1621

    The settlers were first befriended The Wampanoag Indians. They soon realized they had some similarities between culture/tradition. The Chieftain had signed a treaty with the settlers and also helped them scavenge for food and shared it/ They celebrated the first Thanksgiving that same year.
  • 1637

    More English settlers began to arrive, which caused trouble with them and the Indians. A war began between the Pequot tribe and the settlers. The Englishmen and their Native allies set fire to the Pequot's homes and shot the survivors who attempted to run away.This created uneasy tension between the Natives and the settlers.
  • 1644

    Rhode Island finally established rights to the land when a royal charter was given by Parliament. It took about 8 years for this to happen, as it started out as a squatter colony, since they occupied the area unlawfully.
  • 1675-1676

    King Philip created an alliance started assaulting the English villages throughout New England. When this ended, 52 Puritan towns had been attacked, but only 12 were destroyed. Many people, both Indians and settlers.
