    Trumbull was a famous politician, he was governor of Connecticut. He was the only governor to side with the colonists during the Revolutionary War. The man was also a merchant.

    He became a vocal advocate for colonial independence. John also served New Jersey in the Continental Congress. He is usually forgotten as a Founding Father.
  • John Hancock

    He signed the Declaration of Independence. He was president of Congress when the Declaration of Independence was signed. His name is now a saying for a signature.
  • Charles Carroll

    Charles Carroll
    Carroll was an activist for armed resistance. He served in the continental congress. He was the last surviving member of all the men who signed the Declaration of Independence.

    John Jay
    Jay served in the Continental Congress. Jay was a diplomat and wrote somme of The Federalist Papers. He became the 1st chief od justice in the US.

    Signed the Declaration of Independence. "Father of American Psychiatry." Member of Second Continental Congress. Rush was also a writer.

    John was a pastor/preacher. Served as a soldier in the Continental Army (1746-1807). Also a clergyman and politician. Died on Oct. 1, 1807.

    Eminent Domain is the right for the government to take private property. Usually with some compensation. The fifth amendment ties into this.

    One of the amendments to come out of the US Constitution which make the Bill of Rights. The fifth amendment helps the person blamed of a crime to not be prosecuted. It's valuable because it defends our rights by the government.

    This line is a motto used in the US. "Out of many, one." it is on the nickel, because it symbolized features of the Great Seal.

    Alex is the author of Democracy in America. Liberty from arbitrary government. Egalitarianism means that there is no permanent class structure for society. Individualism means that they are free to pursue their own lives. Populism means anyone can have a say in politics. Laissez-Faire is a policy where the government cannot interfere into a situation.
