Ulysses S. Grant was born on April 27th, 1822 in Point Pleasent, Ohio.

Grant had a quiet life as a child. He didn't like school and because he was so quiet other childern called him. "Useless" What he truly excelled at was horsemanship. On the family farm, he could always manage unruly horses and he was well respected in the are because of this.

Grant leaves for West Point Military Academy.

Grant did not excel at West Point. While he was good at math and geology, he was often tardy to clases and dressed very lazily. In 1843 he graduated 21st out of 39 and was happy to be gone.

Grant's real name was Hiram Ulysses Grant, but when his congressman applied for his appointment into West Point, he mistakenly wrote his name down as Ulysses Simpson Grant. (Simpson was his mother's family name) Grant tried to get this changed but he was too late so from there on out, he went by Ulysses S. Grant.

In February he meet Julia Dent and almost instanly fell for her. He proposed to her and she said yes. But, before they could get married he was deployed to fight in the Mexican War.

Grant served in the Mexican war as a quartermaster.

In August of 1854 Grant suddenly resigned from the military. His reasons are unknown.

After Grant resigned from the military, his life was very rough for a while. First he tries to work on a farm by himself and that doesn't workout. The next thing he tries is the real estate business, but once again, this does not work out for him.

Grant finally moves to Illionis and goes to work for his father's leather store. He makes roughly $800 a year and lives and much easier life than he was.

The American Civil War starts and things get tense in America.

Grant is appointed as a colonel of the 21st Illionis Infantry.

Grant receives rank of two star Major General.

After an injury Grant suffered in the summer of 1863. Grant takes control of his army again at Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Lee surrenders to Grant in the McLaen House in Appomattox, Virginia. The Civil War is now over.

Congress establishes a new rank of "General" for Grant making him the first four star General in U. S. history.

Grant is nominated for president by the RNC. He does zero campaigning and just lolls around in his home in Galena, Illinois.

Grant becomes the 18th President of the United States and serves two terms.

Grant is diagnosed with cancer by doctors.

At the age of 63, Grant dies at 8:06 in the morning on July 23rd, 1885.
