  • The invention of the Model T

    The first Ford car was completed on October 1st, 1908. this car happened to be a Model T. The invention of cars helped America evolve to what it is today. This car helped change America and how Americans lived and woked.
  • The Zimmerman Telegram

    The Zimmerman Telegram was a message that the Germans had sent to Mexico asking if they would become their ally after the United States had joined the war againts Germany. The telegram was intercepted by the Brittish, who found out what the message ment so they sent it to the U.S. and that got Americans even more rialed up. When the Germans admitted that they had sent the telegram, Americans were angry and determine to fight back against Germany.

  • The WWI Armistice

    At the end of WWI, the countires who were allies and then Germany signed an Armistice which created peace and ended the war between them. It was put into action at 11am of the 11 hour on the 11 day of the 11 month. That is really neat if you think about it.

  • The 19th Amendment

    The 19th Amendment was ratified on the 18th of August in 1920. This Amendment gave the women in America the right to vote. When this happened it showed that America was becoming equal and giving people the rights they should have as citizens of America.

  • Charles Lindbergh’s Flight

    Charles Lindbergh was the first man to fly alone across the Atlantic Ocean. He started in New York and ended his flight in Paris, France. This was a huge accomplishment to the whole world and I am sure that Charle Lindberg and his flight across the Atlantic Ocean inspired Amelia Earhart

  • The Munich Pact

    The Munich Pact was an agreement that Germany and the major powers of Europe like Great Brittan and France negotiated on and then signed on September 30th, 1928. This agreement gave the German Nazis the power and it allowed them to permit the annextion of parts of czechoslovakia that had German speakers living in those parts.

  • Black Thursday

    Black Thursday is probably more well known as the Wall Street Crash. During Black Thursday, the stock market crashed. This stock market crashed caused a huge depression in the United States of America.

  • Hitler becomes chancellor

    After the war, Germany had been having trouble in their government. People in Germany were afriad about what would happen because of the increasing size of communist. The Germnay president, President Hindenburg agreed to let Hitler become Chancellor in hope that it would help the country because Hitler was a Nazi. Hitler became Chancellor January 30th, 1933.

  • The New Deal

    The New Deal was started by the government, where they started making programs and getting the country back together. At the height of the depression, America had voted Franklin Roosevelt into office as president on March 4, 1933. When he came into office he worked hard to get programs that would help America out of the Depression it was in. The New Deal was said to have lasted between 1933 to 1938

  • Hitler Invades Poland

    On the first of September in 1939, the Nazi Germans invaded the country, Poland. A couple days later the Soviet Union invaded another part of Poland. The Nazis and Soviet Union made an agreement where they then annexed Poland and split it into two parts which each country got half. After the invasion France and Brittian declared war.

  • Pearl Harbor

    On the 7th of December in 1941, their was an attack on Pearl Harbor which caused disastor. The Japanese Navy Air Service bombed the United States Military Base on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. This attack caused the United States of America to join World War 2
  • D-Day

    D-Day was when American, British, and Candian forces landed on a beach of France's Normandy Region. This was one of the largest military assults in history. These allies faught agaisnt Germany while protecting France from being captured. D-Day started June 6 1944 and went till sometime in August.

  • Hiroshima & Nagasaki

    August 6th, 1945 was when the United states dropped a nuclear bomb called "Little Boy" on Hiroshima, Japan. A couple days later on the 9th, America dropped another nuclear bomb called "Fat Man" on the city of Nagasaki, Japan. These two nuclear bombs are the only nuclear bombs that have actually been used in a war in the entire history.

  • The formation of United Nations

    The formation of United Nations happened on the 24th of October in 1945. Their had been a lot of peace confrences and delegations meeting together in order for the United Nations to happen. This means that their were different dates when everyone signed. On the 24th of October the United Nations was born.

  • The Long Telegram

    The long telegram was written by a man named George Kennan who wrote his views on the Soviet Union and the Communism there was in the country. Kennan was an U.S. Diploment that was sent to help establish an embassy for America in the Soviet Union.
  • The formation of NATO

    The North Atlantic Treaty Orginization (NATO) was orginized by 12 western countries. What this treaty says is that they were military alliances together for defence against the Soviet Uninon in case they decided to attack. Later other nations joind the NATO.

  • Russians acquire the Atomic Bomb

    During World War 2 the Russians found out that the Brittish, Americans and Canadians all had Nuclear projects going on and so in defence or their country, the Soviet Union got scientist and military experts to work on researching and creating a Atomic bomb. Even after the war they expanded their research and work and that scared the other countries, especially the United States and this led to the Cold War. The Soviets First lighting of a bomb was the 29 of August in 1949
  • The Korean War

    The Korean War started on the 25th of June 1950 and it ended in July 27, 1953. The Korean War started when North Karea invaded South Karea. The North Kareans were trying to take over and have South Karea become communist like they were. The SOuth Kareans faught back. The United States jumped in and started fighting agaisnt North Karea along with the South Kareans.
  • Brown v Board of Education

    The Brown v Board of Education was a Supreme Court case where they Supreme Court decided that it was unconstutitonal to have seperate schools for the different races. They thought that Blacks and Whites should go to the same school because they were equal. This was big and it helped a little bit with the Civil Rights. But this didn't solve how even though blacks were allowed to go to white schools the were segregated from each other.
  • The Vietnam War

    The Vietnam War started November 1, 1955 and ended April 30th, 1975. The North Vietnam army was helped by communist allies and the South Vietnam army was assissted by America and other countries that were anti-communist countries.
  • Rosa Parks refuses to give up her seat

    On the first of December of 1955, Rosa Parks was in Montgomery, Alabama where she was on a bus and when a white man came and wanted her seat she didn't give it up. Usually Blacks had to give their seat up to any white man or woman that wanted their seat if the white section was all filled. By refusing not to move from her seat the police had to come and they even arrested her becuase of her refusal.
  • The Cuban Missile Crisis

    The Cuban Missile Crisis happend during October 14 to the 28th of October in 1962. What happened was that America had ballistic missiles in Italy and the Soviet Union did not like that and so they decided to give Cuba, who had been asking for help, nuclear missles to protect Cuba from the U.S. In the end, the Soviets and America were able to make an agreement saying that the Soviets would not send any more missiles if America did bug Cuba.

  • JFK’s Assassination

    John F. Kennedy was assassinated on the 22nd of November in 1963. He was shot by a man named Lee Harvey Oswald. He was in Texas with his wife and the governor of Texas when he was shot while he was in a car. He is the fourth President that got assissinated.

  • The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution

    The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution gave President Lyndon B. johnson the power to use military force in Southeast Asia without a formal declaration of war from Congress.

  • The Apollo 11 Moon Landing

    The Apollo 11 Moon Landing stared on the 16th of July and ended on July 24, 1969. In this mission America landed their first two humans on the moon. Those two humans were named Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin.

  • The Watergate Break-ins

    The Watergate Break-ins or Watergate Scandal started in the 1970s and was a pollitical scandel that was in America. Following the scandel their were break-ins at the Watergate office complex headquarters which was the 17th of June in 1972. When this happened the Nixion administration tried to cover it up, but Congress found out and people were unhappy.

  • Nixon’s Resignation

    On August 8th of 1974, President Nixion decided he was going to resign as President of United States because of his involvment of the Waterbreak-ins and the pressure he was recieving from the public. He sent in his resigning papers and left the Oval Office the next morning. He was the first president to ever resign

    The Internet was invented and worked on by many different people. At first during the cold war it was used to communicate and scientist could share their ideas easier. Then researchers started working on it an created what is now the internet today where anyone can acess it.

  • The Fall of the Berlin Wall

    The Fall of the Berlin Wall happened on the 9th of November in 1989. The German split Berlin in half and it cut off friends and family and it made people who lived in East Germany have a diffcult life. When the Communist leader in East Germany declared that people could see each other, the people ran and destroyed the wall doing anything to see each other again.

  • The 9/11 Attacks

    On September 11 2001, terrorist took over four planes that held passengers and started flying them toward the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and then Washington DC. The first two planes hit the two Twin Towers which ended up in killing many people, and injuring even more. The third plane struck its mark and hit the Pentagon which is the United States Department of Defense. The passengers on the fourth were able to crash the plane into the ground, saving Washington DC, White House, and the President.
