  • Battle of Yorktown

    • Cornwallis surrendered to George Washington as French and American forces trapped the British at Yorktown
    • The Americans were assisted by the French which the French won the war.
    • Yorktown was the Final battle that ended the American Revolution.
  • Northwest Ordinance

    -Second continental charted government for Northwest Territory providing a method for admitting new states.
    - It was created so states can be equal to the original 13 colonies
    - It worked by banning slavery in the territory
  • Alien Sedition Act

    • Made it hard for immigrants to vote.
    • Was past by the federalist congress and signed to law by President Adams
    • This law included new powers to deport foreigners
