The Tea Act
In 1773 the British put a tax on all tea entering the colonies. The Tea Act made it so that the British Tea Company had a complete monopoly. They lowered the price of tea as well so that they could stop smuggling. -
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was when a group of colonists protested the Tea Act by dressing up as Indians and dumping 342 boxes of tea in to the Boston Harbor. -
The Intolerable Acts
Britain had had enough with all of the protesting and the Boston Tea Party put them over the edge and they put a stop to it and prevented them from importing basically anything. -
The Declaration of Independence
This was the document that declared their independence from Britain and formed their own country.
