    This is what that started the civil war. Abraham Lincoln sent troops to help the Fort in the South. But the South took over the Fort for themselves. The south did a siege around the fort until the North surrendered. The battle lasted around 2 days. This was important since it war the first battle of the civil war.

    Gettysburg was a battle that lasted days with thousands of casualties. In the end it was a victory for the north, and really decided the war. The south was really suffering form losses while the north had troops to spare. In this battle the north leader was the first person to outsmart Lee. This was probably the most important battle in the civil war since this made the outcome since it was the biggest one with casualties.

    This battle lasted 5 days. the south won the battle. the union's commander Burnside. But the confederate commander is Robert E. Lee which was a greater leader then him in battle. The total amount of people who died are are 18,500. This was significant since a lot of people died here.

    The hard thing for Abraham Lincoln was the south because he wanted the south to be with america. Around 1862 slaves fled the south to join the invading north. Abe Lincoln knew that he had to do what was best. on September 22 he made a call on the emancipation proclamation, declaring that on January 1, 1863 all slaves would be free. This was a huge turning point in the war since it allowed the slaves to be freed in the south.

    Abe Lincoln was assassinated during a play by John W. Booth. John was a northerner but he supported the southerners cause. He had killed Lincoln after the war. The way he was assassinated was a gun shot to the head.This had to be a big part of the civil war since the president died and was the end of the war.
