    The stamp act required colonists to pay a tax for an official stamp on newspapers, legal documents, and other public papers. This followed the Seven Years war because of the enormous debt acquired in Great Britain.

    Document was written by Thomas Jefferson in 1774, before the U.S. Declaration of Independence. Jefferson declares that the British Parliament did not have the right to govern the 13 Colonies. Since each Colony was founded they were independent of British Rule.

    Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776. This allowed the 13 colonies to end the political connections to Great Britain. Largely written by Thomas Jefferson the 13 colonies declared themselves independent from Great Britain.

    Joseph II issued the Serfdom Patent to stop the long established control of the Landlord. This allowed independently choice of marriage partners, career choices and to move between places.

    King George III signed the Treaty of Paris on September 3, 1783, to end the American Revolutionary War. The treaty established boundaries between British Empire in North America and the United States. Fishing rights and property ownership were also included.

    The French Revolution started in 1787, when controller of finances, Charles-Alexandre de Calonne proposed to increase taxation of the privileged to eliminate the budget deficit.

    A book written by Thomas Paine that includes articles that when a government fails to safely guard the natural rights of its people, a revolution is acceptable.
  • Jay Treaty

    Jay Treaty
    Jays Treaty, in 1795 between the United States and Great Britain that avoided war. Resolved issues remaining from the treaty of Paris. Alexander Hamilton proposed the Jays Treaty, President Washington supported the Treaty. Because of the Treaty there was ten years of peaceful trade.
