If they did not win this battle, they may not have won the Revolutionary War and the Declaration of Independence may not have been completed.

    The significance of this battle was that it was the final major battle that ultimately decided the winner of the Revolutionary War. The winner was the colonists who in return signed and sent the Declaration of Independence to England, officially declaring America a free country.
