    1492 Columbus sailed to the new world. This was the first major time when outsiders came to the new world from Europe. Leading up to this was Columbus he first required permission from Spain to find a route to India. He ended up sailing to the new world accidentally and when he came back the king and queen of spain were joyful. The impact of this is that this event allowed the explorers to find a way to build a foundation of America like Jamestown and explore new areas like Henry Hudson.

    The Declaration of Independance was signed in 1776. Leading up to this was the Revolutionary War where colonist were fighting for rights under British rule. The authors of the Declaration of Independence broke away from the british rule by writing about the Declaration of Independence. The Declaration was signed on July 4th, 1776 and this made America a nation giving it rights as a country.

    The Louisiana Puchase was the government buying land from the French and the territory was equal in size to the entire United states at the time so in 1803 it doubled. Leading up to this was the French who owned the land and needed the money to pay for a war with Great Britain. The land was nearly 828,000,000 square miles of territory spreading from the mississippi river to the rockies. This purchase gave America more land.

    The Election of 1860 happened on November 6, 1860. Leading up to this event is 3 democrats and 1 republican named Abraham Lincoln. Many slave states said that they would break off from the union if Lincoln won because he was from the north and wanted no new slave states or territory. Lincoln ended up winning the election and soon after states started leaving the Union. This election was the starting point of the Civil war and Abraham Lincoln ended up ending slaverly as an effect.

D-Day was when the allied forces tryed to take back controle of Europe. This was a turning point in the war where if Hitler was not thrown out he would of released his modern wepons. The world would be different if this was not won.

Neil Armstrong, Edwin Aldrin and Michael Collins were the astronauts. leading up to this was the Soviet Union who launched first artificial Earth satellite and after that the race to space was on. Eight years later on the U.S were the first on the moon. This got people interested in science and told them that anything was possible.

    9/11 was when terrorist hijacked several planes and 1 flew into each of the World Trades Center killing nearly 3000 people on September, 11 2001 or 9/11. Leading up to this was an attempted car bomb from 4 Afghanistans that failed. This attack devastated America and increased airport and airline security around the world and also sent American troops to Iraq to defeat the Taliban that did this and they are still fighting.
