Franklin D. Roosevelt made the "Soil Conservation Act" because crops were failing and farmers were overplanting, overplowing the land. The top soil would be carryed away by the dust storms.

Created by doctor and researcher Alexander Fleming, this medicine helped to heal bacteria by stopping it from reproducing. He was not able to purify it though in his lifetime. Other researchers, though, such as Ernest Chain, Norman Heately, and Howard Florey were able to purify it and prove it usable as a drug.

Got it's name because of the huge dust storms. During this time, many people were already out of jobs and work beacues of the Great Depression. These dust storms would come and cover towns and destroy crops. This made farming hard for farmers and would dry out the land. It hardly rained and crops and cattle were depleating by the thousands.
