    The Impressment of Sailors went from the 17th century to the 19th century. Impressment is when people are forced into labor. The British Navy would force people into becoming sailors. The British would stop ships and seize sailors, mainly American sailors.

    The Washington Proclamation of Neutrality was a declaration by the United States, stating that they would remain neutral between the conflict with France and Great Britain.
  • Jay Treaty

    The Jay Treaty was an agreement between America and Great Britain, negotiated by John Jay, which was to lighten the tensions from the American Revolutionary War.

    Washington's Farewell Address was written by, of course, George Washington, which announced that he would not do a third term.
  • Chesapeake–Leopard Affair

    The Chesapeake-Leopard Affair created rising tensions between the United States and Great Britain in Norfolk Virginia. A British ship had stopped an American ship, demanding to perform a search for "British Deserters." When the Americans refused, the British opened fire.
