  • sugar act

    sugar act
    the sugar act,also known as american revenue tax and american duties tax, was passed by parliment. it was a 3 cent tax on foreign refined sugar, and more taxes on coffee , indigo , and certain wines.
  • stamp act

    stamp act
    required that revenue stamps be affixed to all printed documents in the american colonies. also called duties in colonies act. the purpose was to pay for troops in north americaafter the brithish victory.
  • declaratory act

    declaratory act
    act by great britian accompanied by stampa ct 1765. parliment repealed the stamp act and used the declaration to justify repealing and save their reputauion. the declaration stated that britians authority was the same in america as it ws in britian, asserting aprlimetns authority to pass laws binding to the american colonies.
  • townshend act

    named after charles townshend.the purpose to raissemoney for govenors and judges so they will stay loyal to great britain.The townshend act taxed glass, paint, oil, lead, papar, and tea. this resulted in colonial hostilities.
  • Tea Act

    the tea act,with the objective to rduce the massive surplus of tea held by the british east company . the colonists strongly opposed this.
