    the sugar act cut the duties of foreign molasses from 6 to 3 pence per gallon and had regained a high duty on foreign refined sugar. some colonies would smuggle in in sugar to their colonies and many also argued that there shouldn’t be a no taxation without representation and they were gonna stop buying sugar. the governments reaction refused to listen to people and continued to do the taxation because people don’t want to listen and kept trying to smuggle it in

    the stamp act imposed a tax on all papers and official documents in the america colonies although not in england. it helped replenish all their finances after the seven years war with francs. the american colonist were very angered and upset about the stamp act and immediately acted to oppose it. the governments reaction was to protest after several months later and boycotts which cause several damage to british trade

    the townshend acts was to help pay the expenses in the governing of the america colonies and helped with initiated taxes on glass, lead, paint, and paper. the colonist reaction was upset because they had felt that it was an unconstitutional for the parliament to places taxes, laws and such other things without any representation. the british governments reaction as to send military officials to boston to enforce the acts
