The later to be general Benedict Arnold who also turned out to be a traitor served on the continental army or militia in this war.

    proclamation video the proclamation of 1763 was issued by the British crown. It enforced a proclamation line that prevented British colonists from settling on native american land. It was the first proclamation made that affected all 13 colonies. It was the British's first attempt a conformity and control over its colonist.

    the sugar act cut the duty (tax) on foreign molasses from 6 to three pence. the British monarchy also decided to keep the duty on foreign refined sugars high. However the sugar act didn't only change taxes on sugar, it also banned foreign rum. it was to make money for the Crown.

    stamp act video The act required the colonists to pay a tax. The tax was on stamps on envelopes, and playing cards. The tax was imposed by the British government without approval from colonial people and was payable in British silver. Stamp act effects all document no matter the importance. the Committees of Correspondence fought to negate people from paying these taxes, not only these but all other taxes to come.

    The Quartering act of 1765 was issued by parliament. this act gave British soldier guidelines as to where they can go to commandeer houses to use as barracks. Occasionally the houses are too small so the soldiers will stay in local inns and other businesses with room. However eventually people (in New York) disliked the idea that they had no say in this. In turn, they had a new act passed that allowed for consent of the property owner.

However the american colonist disliked this and it built tensions leading up to the revolutionary war. Ben Franklin informed the British that america will start to manufacture their own goods.

    videothe Boston tea party occurred when the Sons of Liberty and all patriots got sick of the taxation without representation and dumped 342 chest of tea into the water of Griffin's Wharf. This tea was owned and manufactured by the British east India company. This was a MAJOR act of defiance against the British and was also a key spark for the war. The tea dumped cost around 1,000,000 dollars back then.

    to sum it up, the intolerable acts were a set of measures, rules, and taxes used to punish the Massachusetts colonist for the Boston Tea Party. This set of rules was doing the opposite of what it was intended for. Instead, it united the colonies against a common enemy (the british). This also rose tension toward the Revolutionary war.

The first meeting was held to discuss the intolerable acts. This congress has changed but still does the same thing to this day and helps with decisions.

    the second meeting of the congress was in the independence hall in Philadelphia. This meeting was to help establish governmental roles and just overall things for the country. John Hancock was appointed as president of congress and George Washington was appointed commander-in-chief. Ben Franklin was in this congressional meeting. This meeting also formed the idea for paper currency.

    The batter of Bunker Hill was a fight between the Brits and Americans. Americans knew the Brits were coming so they prepped. However they lost, but went out with a bang and injured many British troops. This gave a little hope to some Americans, however, loss is mainly viewed as negative.

    this battle was (as usual) between the Americas and the British. The British surrounded Manhattan, or long island, and ambushed against the Americans position at Brooklyn Heights. The colonist lost close to 1,000 men while the redcoats lost only 400. Washington saved a lot of his army with a push-back strategy, however the British gained control of New York on September 15.

    After crossing the Delaware River in a storm Washington and his army defeated hessian mercenaries. This boosted moral of the colonist. This win set the colonist up for success a week later at Princeton. This battle also gave the colonist many more materials of war such as guns, knives, and cannons

    this battle happened about 9 miles south of Saratoga in up state New York. General John Burgoyne was attempting to invade New England from Canada. The Americas came out victorious over an army far superior. This boosted moral for the patriots. This was a big turning point for the revolutionary war.
