The stamp act
The stamp act was during the time King George the third was becoming less popular due to every tax levy. He was very determined to force obedience among Americans and ended up having a Prime Minister carry out George’s policies. The north land then issued the Coercive Acts, that includes the Boston Port Act, the Administration of Justice act, the Massachusetts Government act, the Quartering act, and the Quebee Act. -
The intolerable acts
The Boston port act had influenced the closing of Boston until the tea lost was paid off. The administration act stipulated that the British offe officers were to be tried in court when accused of crimes. The Massachusetts government act reduced the colony rights to self government. The Quartering act provided British troops that can be housed in any town. The Quebec Act extended the Canadian prince of Quebec to the Ohio river. It also allowed for the French to use their own legal system -
The Declaration of Independence
On the day of 1775 of May, and the day of Summer, 1776, the Second Continental Congress had met. On July 4th of 1776, the Second Continental Congress adopts the Declaration of Independence. This was drafted by Thomas Jefferson and established the US as an independent union. Some rights, like the rights of women and slaves were not included. Life, liberty, pursuit of happiness was the main goal. -

The continental army began as a group of militia. George Washington was the commander of colonial forces during the revolution and was the former commander during the French and Indian war. Their support systems were from France, the received military officers, troops, naval support, and money. The battle of Saratoga(1777) colonist defer British troops. The articles of confederation
This was developed by the second continent congress in 1777 and was to set up a cental government with a one house legislature, meaning each state had one vote. Congress was given the authority to make war and settle disputes while having trouble forcing laws. Independent, strong governments were formed as a weak central government was created. This then led to a weak and unstable economy. -
The US constitution
People were unhappy with the government under the Articles of confederation and thought it needed to be revised and ended up making a new form of government. The goal of the constitutional convention was to create a strong central government and allow some power to stay within the states. The federal system was the central fed government, they were given important powers of declaring war, praising armies, making treaties, coin money, and trade. The bill or rights.
The bill includes freedom of speech, religion, and press. This is our rights to voice our opinion. We have the right to bare arms with care, there’s a speedy trial by jury, I saw a 10 minute court case and lawsuits had to be $20 or more so I wonder what they got if they won. No abusing, goes for every parent on the eart. The constitution law can’t be used against others for their rights. -
The effects of revolution
Locke, Rousseau, and other philosophes were placed into action. The success from the government became a land mark in history. Most of the freedoms during this time on,y applied to adult males as well as slavery being finally abolished
