Timeline for the Revolutionary War

  • Revolution- Battle of Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord was the first battle of the revloutionary war. It only lasted 15 minutes but lots of lives were killed in that amount of time.
  • Concord

    Concord was 5 miles short from Lexington, Massachusetts. British marched up to Concord and fought a big fight. About 3,000 and 4,000 minutemen fought back. After the amount of British dying, the British left back to Boston.
  • The Battle of Bunker Hill

    British general Thomas Gage decided to strike at the militiamen on Breed's hill
  • Saratoga

    Valley Forge and Saratoga battled. Saratoga surrendered. Saratoga turned out to be one of the most eventful of the war.
  • Marquis de Lafayette

    It was a cold frozen winter when the American Troops made a difference. Captain Friedrich von Steuben helped train the continental aremy. In 1779 Lafayette led a command in Virginia.
  • Valley Forge

    More than 2,000 soldiers died due to the battle in Paris.
  • Philadelphia

    Contential major wrote in his diary how that day will become very important in history.
  • Yorktown

    17,000 French and American troops surrounded the British. They began persisted day and night until October 19 Cornallis finally surrendered.
  • Treaty of Paris

    Delegates signed the Treaty of Paris which resoluted in confirmation of the U.S. independence.
