Boy´s father slipped and fell from the roof so he broke his left arm below the elbow. The doctor was so drunk that he mistook the fractured elbow for a dislocated shoulder. So they had to amputate the arm at the elbow. -

Trying to make a fortune
Boy´s father decided that a small town like Sarpsborg was no place in which to make a fortune so he went away to France, there he set up a shipbroking business in Cardif, South Wales. -

Harald realized that his two small children ought to have a stepmother to care for them. He met Sofie Magdalene Hesslberg and pproposed to her within a week and married her. -

Holidays
The family went all the summer holidays to Norway. It took them four whole days to complete the trip. They always stopped off for one night in Oslo so that they could have a grand annual family reunion with Bestemama and Bestepapa, the parents of Boy´s mother. Then they went to the island of Tjome and every day they went by boat to a different island. There were hundreds to choose from. -
Astri´s death
Astri, Boy´s sister, died from appendicitis when she was seven years old -
Harald´s death
Harald died when he was fifty-seven years old of pneumonia. -

When Boy was six years old, he went to his first school. Boy rode to school in his tricycle every day with his eldest sister. It was a great exciment for him. -

When Boy was seven he was sent to a proper boy´s school. It was a well-known Preparatory School for boys. -
The bicycle
Boy saw an older boy that was riding full speed down the road on his bicycle. Boy was fascinated so he wanted to have a bike too!!! -
The sweet-shop
Boy and his friends always went to a sweet-shop and this was the centre of their lives. -
A mouse in the jar
Mrs. Pratchett was the sweet-shop owner, one day the children decided to put a dead mouse inside a jar of sweets. It was Boy´s idea so he felt like a hero. -
Mrs. Pratchett Revenge
The boys realized the sweet-shop was closed so they were afraid of Mrs. Pratchett destination. Was she dead? When they reached school Mrs. Pratchett identified the boys so they were punished with a cane by the Headmaster Mr Coombes. -
Adenoids
The only unpleasant memory of the summer holidays in Norway was when the doctor took out Boy´s adenoids without anaesthetic. -
Letters to Mama
Sunday morning was letter-writting time, the headmaster was always peering over the children shoulders to control what they were writing. -

Boy was nine years old and had just started a whole new adventure at a boarding school (prep school), It was in a part of England near South Wales called Weston-super-Mare, Somerset. -
The Matron
In the dormitory floor ruled the Matron. She was the terror of all kids in the school. She was always in a bad mood and also sent children to the Headmaster to be hit with the cane. -

Boy pretended to be sick and Matron called a doctor,They could´t figure out what had happened to him but Doctor from cathedral did . -
Captain Hardclastle
One day Boy broke his nib and asked for another to a mate but Hardcastle tought he was cheating so Boy was punished by the headmaster. -
Boazers
Boazers had power among juniors ,They could ask you to do whatever they wanted, so boy was a slave like many children. -
Fagging
Boy was a fag meaning a slave of a boazer, Unfortunately he was a servant of a rude one, One day a boazer called him to heat the seat in a bog (toilet). -
