    I was born at Abington Hospital on August 2, 2001 at 5:30 in the morning. I was born on my due date and was seven pounds, seven ounces.
  • 9/11

    9/11
    On September 11, 2001. American lives were forever changed. Al - Qaeda, a terrorist group out of Afghanistan, hijacked four American Airlines. Two of the planes were flown into the World Trade Centers in New York City. Another plane hit the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. The last plane landed in a field in central Pennsylvania, but was said to be heading to the Capitol Building or the White House. After 9/11, security, especially at airports, was greatly increased.

    On October 7, 2001, America and Great Britain bombed Taliban fighters in Iraq. In 2008, President George W. Bush sent 4,500 troops, which was the most violent month since 2001. Three years later in 2011, Obama brought a large number of the troops home, after sending over more marines. In December of 2011, Obama began bringing the soldiers home.

    In the election of 2004, George W. Bush was elected for a second term. It is common for people to reelect their presidents during a time of war, however that hadn't been the case since 1972. During his first term, he had declared war on Iraq following the 9/11 attacks.

    On May 3, 2004 at 4:30, my little brother, Matthew, was born. It was a good day, but the only thing that I remember is that there was M&M's in the hospital room.

    Hurricane Katrina
    In late August of 2005, Hurricane Katrina devastated cities and states along the Gulf of Mexico. In New Orleans, people took shelter in the Superdome. Almost 2,000 people lost their lives and as of 2011, 700 people were still missing.

    In the 2008 presidential election, Barack Obama became the first African American President of America. When Obama first announced he was running, he had a large support system among the African American population. People were unsure if voting for him was the right decision, given that he had no experience with foreign policies. However, he elected Joe Biden as his Vice president, because of his foreign experience.

    Oil Spill
    In the Gulf of Mexico, the Deepwater Horizon exploded killing nearly a dozen people and spilling gallons of water into the Gulf. There was a faulty safety piece that caused the explosion. So, when the oil rig sank, so did the pump which leaked the oil.

    Osama Bin-Laden Is Killed
    A Navy SEAL who had served for sixteen years was let go after shooting, and killing, the mastermind behind the 9/11 terrorist attacks. After leaving the military, the SEAL didn't qualify for military pension, and he lost his health insurance.

    Finding out I have Celiac
    One night in fifth grade, my stomach started to really hurt, So I went to the hospital, and the doctors thought I had appendicitis. So, they sent me to CHOP, where the doctors there drew blood and tested me for Celiac Disease. The tests came back positive, so I had to get an endoscopy to confirm the blood work results. Therefore, to this day, I can am unable to eat anything containing flour.

    On December 14, 2012, Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Connecticut was the site of a crime scene. A shooter entered the school with a loaded gun and shots rang out. Multiple teachers and children were killed, and people all over the country were outraged. Gun control has been an ongoing debate and still is a brought up topic.

    The annual Boston marathon brings talented runners from all over to run . However, in 2013, the runners had a gruesome surprise at the finish line. A bomb had gone off. In this act of terrorism, three people lost their lives, and hundreds more were wounded.

    Won First Swim Meet
    On July 1, sunny Willow Swim Club won its first ever meet. Everyone swam their hearts out, and it clearly paid off. As of now, we win about two meets a season, but we have the most fun.

    In 1994, OJ Simpson was charged for murdering his former wife. Ten years later, however, he was charged for kidnapping, robbery and burglary. However, in July of 2013, his parole request was granted, but he will remain behind bars until Summer of 2017.

  • TADA Champions

    TADA Champions
    In seventh grade, my TADA team were the champions. I got chosen to be on the Iowa Hawkeyes, and it was amazing claiming victory. Throughout TADA games, we dominated every athletic event, and challenge there was. ON the night of the finale, we sang our hearts out, and i was the team mascot. So I had to dress up as a bird an "fly" around in front of a 300 people audience, it was amazing! When we found out we won, I was chosen to be the rookie of the year based on my performance!

    In July in 2014, I went to Cape Cod, MA with my friends, Lauren and Emma. We did so much in ten days, it flew by. We went tubing, kayaking, whale watching, and even jumped off of a bridge! While the drive up and back was not amazing, the time spent there was unforgettable.

    The Zika Virus is a mosquito that causes extreme birth defects in newborn babies. The virus was discovered in Asia in 1927, but was brought to south america in 2015. The virus spread rapidly, especially in Brazil, and now there are 25,694 confirmed cases in America.

  • AGLC Won the Championship

    AGLC Won the Championship
    In late May, of 2015, my Abington lacrosse team won the PAGLA East Championship. We had beaten Horsham by a score of 8-6 and it was the first time in over five years that an Abington team won the championship.

    Same- Sex Marriage
    In June, 2015, the supreme court voted to legalize same- sex marriage in all fifty states. The final vote was 5-4, in favor of legalizing same sex marriage. The debate was whether it was unconstitutional to discriminate gay marriage licenses and whether the constitution said to recognize gay marriage in all fifty states.

    About a year ago, America experienced its largest act of terrorism since the 9/11 attacks. The ISIS supporters consisted of one female and one male shooter. The shooters took to social media, and pledged their support for ISIS and announced their real names, prior to engaging in a gun battle with police before being killed.

  • Making Varsity Lacrosse as a Freshman

    Making Varsity Lacrosse as a Freshman
    In my freshman year, I was one of seven freshman to make Abington's Girls Lacrosse team. I was able to be part of a team that went 16-4, made it to round 2 of district playoffs, and beat four time PIAA state Champions, Garnet Valley. It was an incredible experience and I was thrilled that I got to be part of that.

    Beating Defending State Champions
    On Friday the 13 in May, the Abington Varsity lacrosse team made the 45 minute trek to Garnet Valley High School for our last regular season game. All season long, this was the game that we prepared for. All of our preparation came in handy, we beat the four time state champions.
  • Trip to California

    Trip to California
    This past summer, my family and I took our vacation to California. We flew into San Diego and then stayed there for two days, we went to the world famous zoo. Then we traveled up the coast to Huntington BeachFrom there, we went to Santa Monica for two days. In Santa Monica, we visited UCLA, and Disney. Next up was Monterey and Carmel. Finally, we flew out of San Francisco. In San Francisco, we hiked Muir woods, and saw Alcatraz.
