  • French and Indian War

    The French and Indian War was between France and Great Britain. This war determined what country would have control of the territory of North America. The British won the war but still faced issues due to the Treaty of Paris.
  • Stamp Act

    British Government passed this act in 1765 and ensured that all documents in the colony had a stamp. The colonists were unhappy and resorted to violence which led to a repeal of the act in 1776.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea Party was an act performed by the colonist who disagreed with the acts parliament was passing. This political protest was acted out by the angry American colonists by dumping 342 chests of tea into the harbor.
  • The American Revolutionary War

    The American Revolution was between Great Britain's 13 colonies and the government. The Shot Heard Round the World kicked off the war at Lexington and Concord when a soldier fired unexpectedly. After the Treaty of Paris was in agreement, America was officially independent.
  • Battle of Fort Washington

    On November 16, 1776, the United States and Great Britain went head to head in New York. This battle resulted in a defeat for the US and the British gained the surrender of Fort Washington.
  • Hot Air Balloon

    The Hot Air Balloon was invented in 1783 by the Montgolfier bothers.
  • Shays Rebellion

    Shays Rebellion was an act of defiance performed by a group of protesters in 1786. Daniel Shay was the leader of the rebellion and desired to prevent citizens who were in debt from prosecution. This rebellion was one of the many reasons America wrote the constitution.
  • George Washington

    George Washington becomes the first US president in 1789.
  • Vaccination

    Edward Jenner invented the vaccination in 1796 and was the first inventor to prove that vaccines work.
