    Thomas Kuhn

    Thomas Kuhn was born in Cincinnati, Ohio into a Jewish family. He attended private progressive schools throughout his life. He attended Harvard University and obtained his BS degree in physics in 1943, then would go on to receive his MS and PhD in physics in 1946 and 1949. Kuhn married twice and had three children with his first wife. He was diagnosed with lung cancer in 1994 and in 1996 dies from said diagnosis.

    Kuhn made a claim that in all scientific fields development happens in phases that create a cycle. this theory was published in 1962 in his book "The Structure of Scientific Revolutions". In this book he talked bout the phases of his cycle and created the paradigm shift.
