19th Amendment gives women the right to vote
On August 18, 1920, the 19th Amendment to the constitution was ratified. This event gave women of the United States the right to vote alongside men. This event is historically significant to me because it applies to me personally. Without this amendment to the constitution, I would not have the same right to vote as men do and therefore could not vote in elections, when I come of age to vote. Women all across the country would be denied this right too.

It was the first to ever feature sound along with acting, and paved the way for all movies to follow. Without this film, the movies that we have today could not be possible, as we would not be able to hear them.

On October 29, 1929, the worst stock market crash ever occurred. On this day, investors trade about 16 million shares, and in turn lost billions of dollars.
