After President Truman fell through the floor to the dinner guests while taking a bath, serious and major renovations needed to be done to the White House. Costing around $54 Million, 66 rooms, including the Oval Office, were ripped out and renovated. An $881,000 underground bunker was also made, being 7ft. thick. This took about 660 days to complete.
