Men caught planting bugs at Watergate
Five men were caught breaking into the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee at the Watergate hotel. Many think it was because they were trying to plant bugs. Some of the men were suspected to be linked to Richard Nixon's reelection, the White House said they were not. -

After everything that happened during his presidency Nixon finally decides to resign. Before he left he said "I have never been a quitter. To leave office before my term is completed is abhorrent to every instinct in my body. But as president, I must put the interest of America first.”
