    The First World War was an international conflict that originated when Austria declared war on Serbia, originating a rivalry between the world’s most powerful nations which were divided into two groups the Central Powers—mainly Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Turkey—against the Allies—mainly France, Great Britain, Russia, Italy, Japan, and, from 1917, the United States. It ended with the defeat of the Central Powers.

    The Cold War dominated international relations for 45 years. It shaped the foreign policies of the United States and the Soviet Union and deeply affected their societies, domestic situations, and their government institutions. The conflict on these two superpowers' ideological and geopolitical struggle for global influence after their temporary alliance and victory against Nazi Germany.

    Following a summer of increasingly large demonstrations protesting against the 1968 Olympics held in Mexico City, the Mexican Armed Forces opened fire on 1968 on unarmed civilians, killing an undetermined number, in the hundreds. It occurred in the Plaza de las Tres Culturas in the Tlatelolco section of Mexico City.

    During Carlos Salinas de Gortari's presidency, the currency was replaced with the "new peso"; thus 1,000.00 pesos turned into 1.00 peso. This was caused by the economic crisis of the 80s which resulted in a significant increase in goods prices.
  • COVID-19 pandemic.

    COVID-19 pandemic.

    The first known case was identified in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. Because the virus is highly contagious, it rapidly spreads and continuously evolves in the human population. The pandemic has resulted in severe global, social, and economic disruption.
