When Cars were Invented
The first automobile was created in 1769, it was kind of shaped like a tractor, powered by steam and it was built for the French army it went 2.5 mph and had three wheels. This automobile gave other inventors the idea to make this apart of basic transportation. Different inventors all over the world started to make different types of automobiles/cars. People wanted to find a way to travel through roads using things other than wagons which were mostly moved by horses which tired out. -
Electric Cars
Electric cars actually came slightly after the first military tractor was built in 1832 it wasn't actually a car; it was an electrical carriage Robert Anderson made this. They were replaced after people realized it would be easier to use gas. After a while, people started to make more electric cars, but they weren't used for the road and only for experiments; today, we still have electric cars like the Tesla, but they come at a higher price and are less common than gas-powered cars -
Gas Powered Cars
The first gas-powered car was created in 1855 made by Karl Fredrich Benz; it was engine-powered and had three wheels. After this was invented, gasoline became more popular in cars. The first successful gas-powered car was created by Charles E. Duryea and his brother Frank in 1893. They also created the first car manufacturing company in America. We still use gas-powered cars today in our everyday lives as easy transportation, which wouldn't be possible without them. -
Car Dealerships
The first car dealership in the U.S. was established in 1898 by William E. Metzgar, who participated in the making of Caddilac. Before dealerships were created, most people sold their cars through department stores and travel services. Back then, people used car dealerships to only by certain cars near them. Today car dealerships are more advanced with mechanics, different types of cars, and you can buy your car offline and deliver. -
Technological Advancements in Cars over time
Before cars were popularized, they didn't have things like radios, car keys, and seat belts. Car radios were not added to 1930, which was really the first advancement in cars' technology. Car keys didn't get invented to ignite the vehicle until 1949. Although cars were technology was minium, seat belts were created in 1959 and power steering in 1951. Today we have a lot of technology that goes into cars like Bluetooth, reverse cameras, and GPS. These are all technology. -
The Development of Cars today
Today millions of people use cars in their everyday lives. Cars have almost become a necessity to travel. Today you can see many different cars on the road, the most common being gasoline-powered cars and electric cars. Self Driving and Flying cars are even in the works in the making by Google and Porche. Cars are some of the most important inventions when it comes to technology, and they are really avid in humans' everyday lives. The car is still improving every day.
