    Start Of The Stone Age

    Approximately 2.5 million years ago. This was the start for humankind, as it was the start of the use of stone tools, the first use of fire, and the beginning of language.
  • Period: 30,000 BCE to 10,000 BCE

    The Paleolithic Era

    People were hunter-gatherers and lived in small groups. They were good at finding and using natural resources and used stone tools to hunt and gather food. They also used tools to make shelters from animal skins as well as to create weapons for hunting and protection.
  • Period: 10,000 BCE to 4000 BCE

    The Mesolithic Period

    The Mesolithic period which was after the Paleolithic period, lasted from 10,000 to 4,000 years ago. During this time, people still use stone tools, but they also made new tools out of other materials. This was the start of the bow and arrow, and the beginning of the domestication of animals. people also began to make permanent homes, this was also the beginning of agriculture.
  • Period: 8000 BCE to 2000 BCE

    The Neolithic Period

    Lasted from 4,000 to 2,000 years ago, this was a time of the advancing of technology, as humans began to work with metals such as copper and bronze. They also made pottery, the use of the plow, and the wheel. This was also the period of the development of writing, the formation of organized societies, and the beginnings of cities.

    The Modern Day

    The Stone Age has had a great impact on our modern lives. The development of stone tools and other materials allowed us to create shelters, weapons, and tools that we can still use today. The domestication of animals and the development of agriculture allowed us to form permanent settlements and make food, and the making of writing helped us know how to keep records and communicate with one another. All of these things have allowed us to create the civilization that we live in today.
