    Benjamin Franklin embraced the notion of obtaining truth through experimentation and reasoning. He flew a kite in a thunderstorm which demonstrated that lightning was a form of electrical power. The Enlightenment had an effect on political thought in the colonies.

    French and Indian joined together to fight to the death against the British. Britsh treated natives horribly and French were nice to them. They fought due to land. They had different points of view on freedom.

    Proclamation of 1763
    This proclamation banned all settlement west of the Appalachians. This was to avoid further conflicts with the Natives. Colonists were not aloud to cross this line. Although colonists still moved west onto the Natives land.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    George Grenville created this act because he was suspicious that people were smuggling goods into the country. It halved the duty on foreign-made molasses. It placed duties on certain imports. It strengthened the enforcement of the law allowing prosecutors.
