Millions of African Americans in the South migrate to the North East, Midwest, and West. While they still faced Racism in the North, this did not stop them from spreading their culture. The Great Migration led to African Americans being able to get more jobs, which helped their culture spread and they became more influential. They gained more recognition over time, while still facing some discrimination, they remained strong.

The Harlem Renaissance sparked from Cultural, Social, and Artistic expansion coming from the Great Migration. African Americans were spreading their Jazz Music upon white Northerners and they loved it. The Cultural diffusion of African Americans was great compared to all of the injustices done in the southern states.

This massive movement was led by Martin Luther King Jr. in search for rights for African Americans all across the US. African Americans were doing many peaceful protests and demonstrations to fight for their rights. Rosa Parks demonstrated the Montgomery bus boycott. MLK gave one of the most famous speeches ever. The Black Panther group also did demonstrations, but many were violent towards the police.

As the Civil Rights movement progressed, many African Americans moved themselves out of poverty.
