Rumours are going around that Jack does have a wife, she is not deceased. Jack tells Mr. Patterson that this is true but they are getting deivorced.

Jack was diagnosed with Tuberculosis, a lung disease, and fell ill. Jessie Patterson was around at this time and took care of him. John and Jessie spent alot of time together during this. When Polly was told about Jessie, Jack told her that it was during this time that he fell in love with Jessie due to the comfort and help she gave to him. He said he was going to break it off with Jessie.

Jack picked up his wife in his grey Dort. He was nervous and sweating and Polly knew something with different but she enjoyed getting to spend time with him anyways. John took her to the middle of no where and took out his shot gun and shot a rabbit. He then turned to Polly and after laying down the car blanket he shot her in the head. He vomited. He did not think it was going to be like this.

After killing his wife, John Wilson tried to cover it up. He rolled her up in the car blanket and hid her body. He then rolled his car when he hit a culvert. After rolling his car he decided it would be best if he light it on fire and burned it to get rid of the evidence. He lied about the fire starting in the rear of the car.
