    Proposed by henry clay stated that Maine would become a free state and Missouri would join the union as a slave state. slavery was not allowed above the 36° 30° parallel which was mission's southern border.

    This was a three-day event. A group of six slaves went from plantation to plantation in Virginia killing about 60 white people after this stricter laws were put in place on slaves.

    The United States sent to troops to disputed territory between Mexico and Texas. There was a bit of conflict. President Polk had the Congress declare war. At the end of this war the Tready of Guadalupe-Hidalgo. The US paid Mexico 15 million dollars for California, nevada, Utah, New Mexico, and parts of Arizona, Colorado, Oklahoma, Kansas and Wyoming.
