    the boston tea party was a nonviolent protest. Colonists dressed as indians went aboard ships carrying tea and dumped it into the water. They were protesting the taxes being placed on them.

    The signing of the treaty officially ended the french and indian war. Britain took canada and some of what would be the United States. It started an era of british domination outside of britain.

    The Proclamation of 1763 was sent out by King George III following Great Britain's acquisition of French territory in North America after the end of the French and Indian War, in which it forbade settlers from settling past a line drawn along the Appalachian Mountains. It was a attempt to stop the settlers from settling westward.

    The Quartering Act is a name given to a minimum of two Acts of British Parliament. Parliament made them to order local governments of the American colonies to provide the British soldiers with housing, colthing, food, and anything else they needed. Many colonists were against this act.

The British did this because they wanted more money; the British wanted this money to help provide more security for the colonies. The security was expensive because of the Indians and fights with foreign powers.     The Boston Massacre was a street fight that occurred on March 5, 1770, between a patriot mob, throwing snowballs, stones, and sticks, and a squad of British soldiers. The boston massacre was the result of tensions whicht had been growing between the colonists and the British troops since the troops appeared in Massachusetts in October 1768. It led to the trial where John Adams defended the Britsh soldiers.

    The Tea Act would launch the final spark to the revolutionary movement in Boston. The act was not intended to raise revenue in the American colonies, and in fact imposed no new taxes. Its principal overt objective was to reduce the massive surplus of tea held by the financially troubled British East India Company.

    Passed by the British Parliment relating to Massachusettes after the Boston Tea Party. After the French and Indian War the British Government decided to get more benefits from the thirteen colonies. The colonies were pressedd wiith greater taxes without any representation in Great Britain.

    The first continental congress met to agree to boycott brittish goods. They met at Carpeter's Hall in Philadelphia. the outcome was a declaration stating the colonies rights. They would later meet as the second continental Congress.

    The battle of Lexington and Concord was the first military engagements of the Revolutionary War. Tensions have been buliding between the colonies and Great Britain. The brittish wanted to capture Samuel Adams and John Hancock. The colonists lost less lives, but Great Britain claimed the win

    At the second continental congress meeting they agreed to send the olive branch petition. When that didn't work, they took a vote on independence. The vote concluded that they would send a declaration stating their freedom. That was the Declaration of Independence.

    The Battle of Bunker Hill; mostly on and around Breed's Hill, during the Siege of Boston early in the American Revolutionary War. Even though the British won the hill, the colonies killed more british men. They called it a Moral win.

    Common Sense was a series of pamphlets written by Thomas Paine. It inspired people in the 13 colonies to declare and fight for independence from Great Brittain. It also challanged the authority of British government and the royaal monarchy.

    It was a statement adopted by the Continental congress, it announced that the thirteen Colonies were newly free and independant states, no longer colonies. The british still thought they ruled over them. They shipped the declaration all over the world!

It was the start of a successful British campaign that gave the British control of the strategically important city of New York.     Thomas Paine wrote a series of pamphlets title American crisis. General Washington found the first essay so inspiring, he ordered that it be read to the troops at Valley Forge. Thomas Paine's essays were very inspiring and lifted the spirits of many.

    Immediately following his famous crossing of the Delaware River, General George Washington marched the Continental Army to Trenton, New Jersey. The army's forces included horses, guns, wagons, and soldiers, stretching for nearly one mile. The weather was worse than it had been crossing the river, but the army continued to proceed as Washington rode up and down the column pressing his men to carry on.

    The battles at Saraoga convinced european nations that Americans might win the war and it angered Benedict Arnold about the lack of recognition which leads him to become a traitor. It lifted the spirits of the Americans after all their recent loses to the British. It is also how they finally got the british to surrender

    Winter at Valley Forge
    Valley Forge is in pennsylvania, about 20 miles from Philidelphia. Though far from ideal, the conditions of the encampment were on par with the Continental soldier's routine privations. During the early months of the encampment, supplies and provisions were scarce, but available.

    General George Washington, commanding a force of 17,000 French and Continental troops, begins the siege known as the Battle of Yorktown against British General Lord Charles Cornwallis and a contingent of 9,000 British troops at Yorktown, Virginia, in the most important battle of the Revolutionary War. The outcome of this battle was a win for the Americans. It was one of the biggest battles of the Revolutionary War

    1. The United States was independent
    2. Its boundaries would be the Mississippi on the north, the Spanish Florida on the south
    3. The United States would receive the right to fish off Canada's Atlantic coast, near newfoundland and Nova scotia.
    4. Each side would repay debts it owed the other.
    5. The British would return any enslaved persons they captured. 6.Congrees would recommend that the states return any property they had seized from loyalists.
