    Bush vs. Gore
    The case was whether Florida was violating the U.S. Constitution in the election polls. Albert Gore's supporters sued the state of Florida for a recount. Bush's supporters sued to prevent it. Florida's election laws set an unchangeable deadline for announcing the final results, so the recount had to be begun quickly if it was to be done at all. When the Florida Supreme Court decided in favor of Gore, and ordered the recount to be completed, Bush appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court.

    George W Bush was elected president on January 20th 2001. He won against Albert Gore. Bush (Republican) won with 271 electoral votes against the 266 electoral votes Gore (Democrat) got. Bush not only won the electoral's vote but also the popular vote.

    September 11th, 2001 there were four terrorism acts that took place all around the states. These four planned attacks were performed by the Islamic group al-Qaeda. Two planes were hijacked and flown into the Twin Towers in New York City. Along with two other planes one that was targeted to hit the Pentagon and the other that was overrun by its passengers and crashed in a field in Pennsylvania.

    There had to be Congressional approval to approve the declaration of with Iraq. The Democratic House of Representatives only 81 were for and 126 were not for the war. Then for the Republican House of Representatives 215 were for and 6 weren't. In the end Congress approved the war with Iraq for the better of the country. This is when the war on terrorism began and the take down of al-Qaeda.

    The Space Shuttle Columbia disintegrated when the shuttle entered the Earth's Atmosphere. The hydraulics became low and everything started to fall apart from there. The tire pressure began to drop and there wasn't any clear connection between the passengers and HQ. The shuttle couldn't handle the speed and pressure change from space into the atmosphere causing the main lifelines of the shuttle to fail.

    This was the plan to capture Saddam Hussein and to free the Iraqi people from his power. The U.S. Army went to Iraq and within three weeks the U.S. military secured Baghdad. Saddam escaped but after nine months he was captured.

All eight of these seats were held by Republicans.

    Former President Gerald Ford dies at age 93 from Arteriosclerosis cerebrovascular disease. He was the 38th president from 1974-1977 following the resignation of Nixon. He was apart of the Republican Party. He served as the 40th President's Vice President.

    Barack Hussein Obama was elected the 44th President of the United States. He broke the final racial barrier in American politics. He will forever be known as the first African American as President.

    George Bush bid his farewell the last evening he was in the White House in front of 200 heroes of 9/11. "You may not agree with some tough decisions I have made," he said. "But I hope you can agree that I was willing to make the tough decisions." He gave the sign of hope even though he wasn't going to be in office anymore. He made it clear he'll fight for this country even not in office.
