(Zendel, 8) This quote is spoken by lorraine telling us that john drinks and smokes a lot. this makes hime troubled because most kids don't smoke or drink but some do and john smokes and drinks more than all of them. -
Lorraine and john first talk to Mr.Pignati
Lorraine and john first talk to Mr.pignati by prank calling him and he donates money to their fake L & J fund. “This is Miss Truman of Howard Avenue Charites. Perhaps you’ve heard of us?” (Zendel, 23) this is when Lorraine prank calls Mr.pignati. -
Lorraine and john first meet Mr.Pignati
This is when John and Lorraine go to Mr.Pignati’s house to receive the 10$ he donated to the L & J fund. “HI! Are you the charity people? He didn’t seem to be surprised that we were kids. He just seemed glad to see us.” (Zendel, 36) This statement represents that Mr.Pignati is a nice and big man, like he just wanted to help the charity. -
Lorraine, John and Mr.pignati go to the zoo together
In this part Lorraine, John and Mr.pignati go to the zoo and meet Bobo the baboon which is Mr.Pignati’s best friend. “I want you to meet Bobo. Bobo? Even John’s widened. My best friend, Mr.Pignati explained” (Zendel, 56) This quote impacted the event because it shows that Mr.Pignati is lonely. -
Mr.Pignati's first heart attack
Mr.Pignati, Lorraine and John are roller skating and Mr.Pignati was chasing John then suddenly he grabbed his chest and fell down the stairs. “Then he pressed his right hand to his chest and fell to the bottom of the stairs.” (Zendel, 111) This is when he was chasing john and he was tired and they were having a lot of fun until that happened. -
Bobo death
Bobo the baboon was Mr.Pignati best friend and Mr.Pignati went to see him every day and when he died it was sad for him. “Had a woolly monkey down the end that died from pneumonia too.” (Zendel, 158) Bobo and Mr.Pignati were best friends and when Bobo dies it killed Mr.Pignati too. -
Party at Mr.Pignati's house
John and Lorraine had a party while Mr.Pignati was at the hospital and Norton came and got punched by John. “I felt like killing Norton as I plowed into him, punching his face like a sack of floor.” (Zendel, 142) Norton broke pigs from Mr.Pignati’s collection and John just went off on him. -
Mr.Pignati's death
This event is when Mr.Pignati dies because his best friend Bobo the baboon died from pneumonia. “it was like a high pitched scream, But it came from deep inside of him, and before John or I knew what was happening, the Pigman dropped on the floor.” (Zendel, 158) This event is important because Lorraine and John’s best friend just died write in front of them. -
introducing norton
In this event it tells you how Norton is the bad guy. “Actually Norton Is a social outcast. He’s been a social outcast since his freshmen year in high school when he got caught stealing a bag of marshmallows, and ever since then everybody calls him The Marshmallow Kid.” (Zendel, 21) in this quote it states that Norton steals things and perhaps gets bullied for it.
