Cordless phones
The first version of the cordless phone was invented in 1965 but could not be marketed. It was invented by a Jazz musician. The invention 2-mile range caused radio signals to interfere with aircraft. She sold the rights to her invention who modified it for use. -
First cell phone was created
The first mobile phone was introduced by Dr. Martin Cooper. He made the first call on April 3rd, 1973. He was a Motorola researcher and executive. -
First generation cellphone networks
The first commercially automated cellular network (the 1G generation) was launched in Japan in 1979. Canada launched their 1G networks in the 1980's. The technological development that distinguished the First Generation of mobile phones from the previous generation was the use of multiple cell sites, and the ability to transfer calls from one site to the next as the user traveled between cells during a conversation. -
Second generation Cell phone networks
In the 1990's the 2nd generation mobile phones emerged. The second generation introduced text messaging. 2G also introduced the ability to access media on mobile phones. -
Bag Phones
Bag Phones were manufactured from 1992-2000. The company that manufactured the bag phone was Motorola. When cell phones were invented they became out of style. -
Blackberry was invented
Blackberries were designed and developed by a Canadian company. Was first introduced as a 2 way pager. In 2003 the most commonly known blackberry smartphone was released. -
Third Generation Cell phone network
The main difference between 3G technology from 2G technology is the use of packet switching rather than circuit switching for data transmission. The first 3G network was launched in Japan. By the end of 2007 there was 295 million subscribers on the 3G network. -
Fourth generation Cell phone networks
The main ways in which 4G differed technologically from 3G was in its elimination of circuit switching, instead employing an all-IP network. 4G is faster then the previous networks. -

Fast forward to the present
Now they have made major upgrades to the 8th generation of phones( Water proof, face recognition, dual cameras, etc). If we keep upgrading phones there will be no need for computers nor cameras
