Japan attacked Pearl Harbor which is in Honolulu, Hawaii. They bombed the harbor on December, 7 of 1941, Sunday at 7:55 a.m. They bombed the harbor because the United States had cut off all oil exports to Japan. -

Germany & Italy Declare War
Germany and Italy declare war on the United States on December, 10 1941. They declared war because Hitler wanted to seize and destroy everything the United States had left after the attack on Pearl Harbor. -
"Relocation" Camps
The U.S. government became scared that the Japanese-Americans would turn against America again. They sent them to relocation camps to be questioned to see what they knew about the attack on Pearl Harbor. This all happened in the month of April in 1942. The camps were located in California, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Wyoming, Colorado, and Arkansas. -
Warships Back at Sea
The U.S. Navy announced in May of 1943 that they had repaired all warships that had been damaged in the attack except for the U.S.S. Arizona, U.S.S. Utah, and the U.S.S. Oklahoma. They wanted the people to know that the attack had not completely destroyed the base. -
Guam's Liberation
The United States troops liberated Guam in July of 1944. The Japanese captured Guam to use them to help them fight in the war. Then, the United States liberated Guam from Japan to make them a free territory once again. -
Lt. Shot Down
Lt. George Bush was flying a U.S. Navy Torpedo Plane near Okinawa when he was show down after being attacked by a bomb raid in September of 1944. After he was shot down, he parachuted into the sea and was rescued by a U.S. submarine. -
Iwo Jima
U.S. Marines land in Iwo Jima in February of 1945. They planned to invade Iwo Jima because they where in need of a base near Japan's coast. -
Hiroshima
The US becomes the first and only ones to use atomic weaponry on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. They used the atomic bomb in order to end the war quickly on August 6, 1945. -
Nagasaki
The U.S. bombed Nagasaki, Japan. This resulted in Japan's surrender to the U.S. on August 9, 1945. -
The War is Over
Japanese officials signed a treaty in surrender on the U.S. Missouri in September of 1945 in Tokyo Harbor.
