    Japan attacked Pearl Harbor which is in Honolulu, Hawaii. They bombed the harbor on December, 7 of 1941, Sunday at 7:55 a.m. They bombed the harbor because the United States had cut off all oil exports to Japan.

    Germany and Italy declare war on the United States on December, 10 1941. They declared war because Hitler wanted to seize and destroy everything the United States had left after the attack on Pearl Harbor.

    The U.S. government became scared that the Japanese-Americans would turn against America again. They sent them to relocation camps to be questioned to see what they knew about the attack on Pearl Harbor. This all happened in the month of April in 1942. The camps were located in California, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Wyoming, Colorado, and Arkansas.

    U.S. Marines land in Iwo Jima in February of 1945. They planned to invade Iwo Jima because they where in need of a base near Japan's coast.
  • Hiroshima

    Hiroshima
    The US becomes the first and only ones to use atomic weaponry on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. They used the atomic bomb in order to end the war quickly on August 6, 1945.
  • Nagasaki

    Nagasaki
    The U.S. bombed Nagasaki, Japan. This resulted in Japan's surrender to the U.S. on August 9, 1945.
  • The War is Over

    The War is Over
    Japanese officials signed a treaty in surrender on the U.S. Missouri in September of 1945 in Tokyo Harbor.
