    Santiago is a fisherman but he hasnt caught anything for 84 days in a row. His assistant, Manolin, has helped him but his parents told him not to because Santiago is the unluckiest man. One day, a marlin takes his bait and Santiago stuggles with it for three days. He finally gets him reeled in enough to harpoon him and it dies. He sails back to the shore but sharks follow the trail of bood and eat his catch. He returns with a skeleton. Manolin decides to help him once again.
