Many protests began to take place in hopes to make a change and help the people living in the Love Canal community. -
Evacuation of the Love Canal families began in 1978, but more and more families were urged to evacuate their homes each year. The children living in the Love Canal area would return from playing outside with burns on their faces and hands. -
