    The first attack
Above is Northwestern University, in 1978. This is the place where the first bomb from the Unabomber went off. Originally it was sent to the University of Illinois but when the recipient didn’t recognize the package, he sent it back to the return address. This was to Professor Buckley Crist, Jr., who taught at Northwestern University. Crist, Jr. did not recognize the package either so he called security to handle it and the bomb in the package ended up detinating upon opening.
  • First piece of evidence

    First piece of evidence
Kaczynski, was able to master his work after 17 years of making bombs. His original, self made bombs killed 3 people and injured 24. Above is a picture of one of his bombs that was foung by the FBI. The bomb is from one of the Unabombers attacks in 1987 which occured at a compiuter store in Utah. This particular bomb holds a lot of signifigance because this was the first attack where there was actually an eyewitnes who saw the whole bombing occur.
  • The Unabomber has been spotted

    The Unabomber has been spotted
The 1987 police sketch of the bomber who turned out to be Kaczynski. This is the one piece of evidence that gave inclination of how the infamous terrorist looks. Since this is the only time he was seen, and he’s in a disguise, it is no surprise that he was able to avoid the FBI for 17 years. However, this one sketch ultimately did play a huge role in his arrest. The sketch was made after Kaczynski was spotted at the bombing of the computer stores in Utah, which was also his first fatal bombing.
