During WW1 over nine million combatants and seven million civilians died. On the 11th of November 1918, Germany surrendered and all countries agreed to stop fighting while the terms of peace were negotiated

Hitler is Appointed Chancellor of Germany

To help control the chaos of the German Government, the President,
Paul von Hindenburg, declares Hitler chancellor of Germany. This was the first major step to Hitlers ascent to dictatorship.
