This is the day when the tributes of district 12 are chosen. the first chosen is Primrose everdeen and katniss volunteers for her. peeta mellark is the male trubute chosen.

Katniss and peeta have to say goodbye to their families and are taken away to the training center. here they will learn basic survival skills.

the announcer says something katniss and peeta need is at the cornucopia and katniss has to drug peeta to let her go get it. she comes back and gives peeta the medicine

peeta is much better and they go hunting for some food. peeta accidently gatheres poisinous berries. foxface dies from eating the berries not knowing they were poisinous.

there are only 2 tributes left in the game katniss, peeta, and cato.
