During the train ride to the Capitol, the two tributes from District 12 get to know their mentor a little more. Haymitch Abernathy advises them to follow whatever their stylist says. -

Prim Is Chosen To Play In The Hunger Games
Primrose Everdeen's name is picked out of the glass ball by Effie Trinket at the reaping to play in the Hunger Games for the 12th district. -
Katniss Volunteers as Tribute
When Katniss’ sister Primrose, name is picked at the reaping to play in the Hunger Games, Katniss volunteers to take her place. This confuses the people on stage because no one had volunteered to take someone's place in decades. -
Gale and Katniss become good friends
Katniss and Gale meet in the woods. He teaches Katniss how to make snares so she could catch small creatures. He also helps her with hunting for animals. They share their food that they catch and the money they make. -
Mr. Mellark visits Katniss
Mr. Mellarks helps Katniss by promising to take care of her little sister Primrose. He said he would make sure she eats. Katniss feels relieved that her family would be taken care of while she is away. -
Haymitch mentors Katniss
Haymitch helps Katniss so she'll be ready to fight in the arena. He advises Katniss because they're in the same district and he's supposed to be a mentor to her and Peetah. -
Rue and Katniss become allies
Rue points out the tracker jacker nest to Katniss. Katniss starts cutting the branch with her knife and then drops the nest on her enemies. She gets away while they run to the pond. Rue helped Katniss because she probably wanted the careers dead too since they were the strongest of the tributes. It would make it easier for everyone. -
Katniss Blows Up the Careers Supplies.
Katniss, realising she needs to destroy the Career's food supply, if she wants to have a fighting chance of winning The Hunger Games, devises a plan to blow up their supplies. The first two arrows Katniss fires have little effect, but the third succesfully blows up the Career's supplies. -
Eleven Tributes Die
There are eleven tributes that don't even make it past the opening of the Games. Katniss watches the pictures flash above her during the night and counts how many dead tributes there are on her fingers. She hopes that Peeta is still alive. -
The Ending to the Hunger Games-
n the end Katniss and Peeta ended putting poisonous berries in their mouth and before they swallowed them they were named the winners and they both spit out the berries. -
Winning of the hunger games
The two (Peeta and Katniss) decide to either win together or die together. So they each take a hand full of "Nightlock" and on the count of 3 eats it. But just before it passed their lips, the gamemaker announces that they both won. They rinse out their mouths and hold eachother tightly. -
The After Events of the Hunger Games
Peeta and Katniss both survive and get picked up in a plane and then because of Peeta's leg injury made him become unconscius so so he ended up being treated. -
Time for the homecoming
Katniss and Peeta get ready to greet everyone and for everyone ti watch their homecoming. Peeta grabs her hand and says "one more time? For the audience?"
