    In 1970 the Boston Patriots became a pursuant of the NFL. In their first season in the NFL they did really bad as they went 2-12.

    The new Stadium and Name
    In March of 1971 they changed the name of the team to the New England Patriots. Also in 1971 they changed their stadium to a new one in Foxboro, Massachusetts.

    In 1986 the New England Patriots went to their first super bowl against the Chicago Bears. They ended up losing the game but it was their first super bowl appearance.

    The New England Patriots advance onto the Superbowl for the second time. They play the Green Bay Packers. The Superbowl ends with the Packers winning 35 to 21.
  • Bill Belichick is signed as head coach.

    Bill Belichick is signed as head coach.
    In 2000 Bill Belichick is signed as head coach by being traded from the New York Jets. He is still presently the coach of the New England Patriots.

    The first Super Bowl won with Tom Brady
    The New England Patriots advanced to the Super Bowl in 2001 with their new starting QB Tom Brady. They ended up winning the Superbowl againt the Sant Louis Rams 20 to 17.
  • Drew Bledsoe gets hurt bringing in Tom Brady as Quarterback

    Drew Bledsoe gets hurt bringing in Tom Brady as Quarterback
    In the 9/11 game in 2001 the New England Patriots played the New York Jets. In the middle of the game Drew Bledsoe was severely injured and Tom Brady came in as the QB. Tom Brady did amazing for the rest of the season as QB. He then became starting QB and Drew Bledsoe never started ever again as a QB for the New England Patriots.

    In September of 2002 the new Gillette Stadium opened. This new stadium was built adjacent to the old stadium.

    In 2004 the New England Patriots wentt onto their second Super Bowl win with Tom Brady.They played the Carolina Panthers and won by the score of 32 to 29.

    They won their third Super Bowl with Tom Brady in 2005. They played the Philadelphia Eagles and won by the score of 24 to 21.

    The 2007 season started out as them dong really good. They went on for the rest of the regular season winning every game with a record of 16-0.
